WE WOULD LIKE YOUR OPINION

I have a question for people to consider. If the TON/SXD were (this is hypothetical) to move the prison, how far would be far enough? The other locations that they listed on the EA were on the other side of 19 on Pima Mine Rd. just closer to the mine or 3 Points. I need feedback from people on this, so if you would give it some thought and give a response it would be appreciated. We have added a poll on the right side of the blog for your response.

  1. I really think we have enough prisons! pretty soon we will have one on every street corner! The U.S. has more prisons then any other country. Something is really wrong with our system. Norway has two prisoners in the whole country. Our whole govenment needs to be overhalled. Is our system really working? More prisons more taxes for us to pay. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Big wigs are making lots of money on prisons. Paying off officials to get their way in the door. They are using the excuse that prisons create jobs! Hugh! seven dollars an hour! We need to stop falling for their nonsense. Peoples welfare are not even considered. Shove these shady people out the door!

  2. Of course the further the better! But Three Points is a nice little town too, and it'd be sad to see the residents there have to go through the same thing we're going through- I don't want to dump our problem with the detention center on them!

  3. Initially I thought teh I-19 & Papago road exit, but that is actually about the same distance to TON residential/community areas as it would be to us in its proposed location. SO I don't think we should advocate moving it somehwere that would put it in the same proximity that we are complaining about. I think 1/2 to 1 mile west of I-19 around kilometer marker 86 might be a good alternative...of course an exit/entrance ramp would have to be built.
