  1. I was at the get together last Saturday, 16 May. There was a comment about "those who want to know about the issue can easily find information about the issue." I think that that is a poor position to take. Our hectic lives: with work, school, family, sports, home maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and who knows what else, can make it hard for many to obtain the information. For example, this site has a reference to flooding the BIA with letters. The letter was due on the 15th of May and I only found out about it today, 19 May. We need to do a better job about getting the facts out. If I hadn’t been lucky enough to stumble upon the issue in one of the local flyers, a flyer that I do not usually read due to time constraints and lack of interesting content, I would not even be aware of the issue right now. I will do my part in my community to get the word to all of my neighbors and I think that we should all take the time to do the same in our respective communities. We should not take the position that just because the information is out there that everyone will have the time or take the time to discover it. I think that this issue is too important to take that chance.

To help us help ourselves, could you include a list of letters with the appropriate action for the letter? A link to each of the letters would be nice. For example, the “EPA Environmental Compliance & Enforcement Assurance Department letter, where do we send it? Where can someone obtain the letter if they do not have a copy? Also, I guess that the extension for responding to the EA report is referring to the letter to the BIA. Am I correct? This letter has an address but can we drop it off at the Club House too? Again, a list of letters with appropriate disposition would help tremendously. I had to hunt around to find the addresses to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on the website.
